Because I am a Girl Ottawa Roundtable 2009

I was really excited to have been chosen for the Because I am a Girl roundtable event in Ottawa. Although I have been in Toronto for around 9 years, the surprising thing is that I have made countless international trips to visit family but never managed to go around Canada. Being able to represent girls around the world and be at a platform to raise issues and find solutions for them was awesome enough. But visiting Ottawa was an added excitement.

I was chosen as one of the three girls to visit Ottawa to attend the conference. The week before the conference went by with me deciding on what to wear and what not to, along with jotting down ideas and topics of discussions for the conference.
