Recognition from Clarington Mayor

Back in October, I blogged about receiving the Leading Girls Building Communities Award from my MPP and MP. A few weeks ago, members of the Clarington Council heard that I got this award and invited me to a council meeting. I was very thrilled but also nervous! I'd be in a room with many powerful people, including the mayor!
When I arrived at the meeting, every member of council congratulated me. They were eager to meet me and offer their support. Mayor Adrian Foster even presented a certificate on behalf of Clarington Council recognizing my awards and accomplishments. It was a great night and I'm even more inspired to not only work with youth, but adults too. I want to be able to raise issues to council and help find solutions.
