The Empty Grain Bank

Travel for a moment to the Borana region, Ethiopia and meet an elder at his empty grain bank speaking about how hard the drought has been on him and his community.

Good food, healthy children

In Guatemala 43% of children under 5 are malnourished -- nearly 60% of these are indigenous children. The film reveals how many children survive on flour tortillas with crushed chilli spread on top. The film also highlights the success of a Plan project that has introduced family gardens, provided seeds and taught communities to make their own compost. The project has also taught a thousand women new recipes to ensure their children eat food high in nutrients.

Children's Right to Food

Climate change affects many people in Nicaragua, in particular farming communities from rural areas who suffer from droughts and floods making food production difficult. Plan implemented a food security project with the aim of encouraging families to work together in the community development process.

The Food Security project focuses on four areas, availability; access; biological use and consumption. Today, hundreds of families have been trained and are working to reduce food insecurity, helping other families to produce and eat healthy foods and ensuring children's rights in every community.
