Every day 8,000 people die of AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome). The virus that causes it-- the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) -- currently infects an estimated 33 million people around the world. More than 22 million of these people live in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Plan addresses HIV and AIDS through a two-pronged approach of awareness raising and project activities that includes medical support and helping improve the livelihoods of families affected by the disease.
