War and conflict

War and conflict are about more than just the violence we see in the news and read about in newspapers. War leaves many children orphaned, traumatized, and without food, health care or education.

The chaos of war creates an environment where children may have to run away from their homes or become separated from their families. They may even be abducted, abused or even forced to fight in the conflict as child combatants.

In conflict situations, Plan works to provide the basics of life such as water, shelter, food and health care as well as supporting children and their families who are displaced by war.
