My Rights Mean the World to Me

Human rights are important, that is why I show the world my rights everyday and fight for the rights of others. The photograph is of my friends and I counting pennies for Pennies for Peace. To explain, Pennies for Peace raises money to build schools in Pakistan and Afghanistan. We brought this program to our school because we believe that everyone deserves the right of education and the obvious- peace. Also, I am raising awareness on the circumstances in these countries. I have the right to voice my opinions in Canada but many in other countries are denied this right. I don't think one can truly understand the full meaning of having rights until they have none. My rights mean the world to me, and I know that with my rights come responsibility. For example, I have a right to an education but it is my responsibility to learn. It is sad to think about the parts of the world that have little rights, but we have to. We must think and we must advocate for them using our rights. Then, we must believe that we can make a difference in this world.
