The cause:

Education and Water and Sanitation

The facts:

  • Only 50% of people living in Sierra Leone have access to improved drinking water.
  • 87% of people don't have access to improved sanitation facilities (aka toilets and latrines).
  • Access to clean drinking water at school reduces school absences due to water-borne diseases and water collection responsibilities.

The project:

Toilets are something we take for granted but can you imagine life without them? This project made schools healthier, safer and more accessible by providing sanitation facilities in schools in 36 villages in Sierra Leone.

The details:

Access to basic infrastructure is also a girls
