[video] From the 'Children Have Something To Say' series of 40 short films made entirely by children aged from 12 to 18 years from India with the support of Plan Netherlands.
This film follows a day in the life of seven year old Rabia who lives in a slum on the outskirts of Delhi. Rabia's family is very poor and they rely on her to support them as her brothers are sick with fever and tuberculosis, her younger sister has a terrible skin disease, her mother is confined to bed and her father has asthma.
Every morning Rabia goes to the giant dump to search for things she can sell such as iron, glass, plastic, rubber, copper and packaged food. Barefoot, children who search the dump are often cut and bruised by sharp pieces of broken glass.
