Climate change affects many people in Nicaragua, in particular farming communities from rural areas who suffer from droughts and floods making food production difficult. Plan implemented a food security project with the aim of encouraging families to work together in the community development process.
The Food Security project focuses on four areas, availability; access; biological use and consumption. Today, hundreds of families have been trained and are working to reduce food insecurity, helping other families to produce and eat healthy foods and ensuring children's rights in every community.
